Marinated Coleslaw

Course: Salad, Side Dish


  • 3 c. shredded green cabbage
  • 3 c. shredded red cabbage
  • 1 large green pepper chopped
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. cider vinegar
  • 1 c. vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 T. sugar


  • Combine the cabbage, green pepper, and onion and mix well. Add the 1 c. sugar and mix.
  • In a saucepan, combine the vinegar, oil, salt and 1 T. sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Pour over the cabbage mixture. Mix well. Cool. Cover and refrigerate.


This coleslaw keeps in the refrigerator for days.  It just gets better!
