Marinated Coleslaw

1 head cabbage, shredded
1 green pepper, chopped
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 stalks celery, finely chopped
1 c. sugar
1 c. cider vinegar
1 c. salad oil
1 T. salt
1/2 tsp. freshly ground pepper
2 tsp. mustard seeds

Combine the cabbage, green pepper, onion, celery and mix well. Add 3/4 c. sugar and mix.
In a saucepan, combine vinegar, oil, salt, pepper and mustard seeds. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Pour over the cabbage. Mix well. Cool. Cover and refrigerate.
